Happy Birthday Benjamin!

Yesterday we had Ben's first B-day party.  My baby is 1 year old.  That's weird to say.  I have a 1 year old.  Ah!  Well it was quite the exciting day and as silly as some people might think it is I feel it was totally worth it and tons of fun.  I mean just look at these pictures!

David's professor came to party with us too!  He is the one who David works with on his research at school. They are close. :)

We decided after a little talk and some play that it was time to start the cake! Especially before Ben realized what was on his head and took his hat off! I couldn't believe he had it on for so long.  

He was really timid and shy at first and didn't know what to do with this big pile in front of him...Plus he had a room full of people watching him!

But he warmed up and after a while pretty much dug in! First it was the frosting...that's all he scraped off and ate but then he went in for the meat.  

He was really enjoying it....how do I know?  Because when we took it away (no we didn't let him eat the whole thing) this is what happened.  So precious...

He calmed down when we started washing his hands and face in the sink.  Then it was on to the presents!

It was such a fun day that he even got to stay up till 7pm! Yay!  Uncle Brian was nice enough to come into town for the event and they had fun together.  

We've had fun playing with his new toys ever since and it's like he knows he's a  year old now because he's walking all the time! It's rare for him to crawl now..all the sudden!  My baby boy isn't so much a baby anymore!
