Yesterday we went on a beautiful hike.  It was the perfect thing that I wanted to do on my birthday morning.  It's a good thing we decided to do a hike with water because it was HOT!  I remember why I don't want to live down here...I would be miserable.  I am definitely not like my mom in that way. Sorry mom.   


 
But she did instill in me a love for hiking.  It was nice to have my brother and sister in law there with my niece and nephew and my dad.

 At one point Lachlan decided that he didn't want to walk in the water anymore because it was COLD!  But he quickly got over it and became brave again...plus I think the heat I was talking about helped.


This is a picture looking directly up from the slot canyon.  It was crazy to think about how long it took the little river below to carve out that!



 Then it was time for some fireworks with the family over at Joe and Nats.  Unfortunately, most of the kiddos did not enjoy the loud noises.

The day was topped off with a fix of frozen yogurt.  It was perfect.
