Our weekend was a very fun one.  It was Lucie's birthday and it was also Clark and Jenna's graduation!  We were so excited to have Lucie for her 9th birthday and even though her actual big day was spent at a lengthy graduation ceremony she was a trooper and sport!

While we waited to meet up with Lucie Lu we spent some time at Judy's house, admired the tulips and talked with James.  Sorry we missed you Judy!

The ceremony was exciting.  I was so proud of my brother and sister in law and being at an actual ceremony brought it home for me even more.  It also reminded me that in year (hopefully) this will be what David is doing! Yay!

After graduation we hit up a local Denny's for shakes (and an omelet in my case).  Lucie was sung happy birthday by the enthusiastic group of workers and given some strawberry ice cream.  I think that made up for sitting for 3 hours at graduation a little.

But Saturday was the day we did the real celebrating.  After Ben's morning nap (which was 3 hours btw...he's not used to going to bed after 6 or 7 at the latest...9:30 was rooough!) we headed to the zoo!  And so did everybody else in the Salt Lake valley! It was literally a zoo! Somehow we were blessed with somewhat good parking and even though you had to crowd your way through to see anything it was totally worth it!  Jace and Lucie had a blast.  They were our little navigators and we let them lead the way!  They did a good job.  When they got pooped we refueled with some good 'ol zoo food and off we were again!  Ben loved seeing all the animals.  He got so excited sometimes he wanted to be let down in the cages to play with the animals.  Especially when he saw the ginormous desert tortoise.  So cool!

By the time we were done these three were pooped!  What a fun day! And it's not even over yet!  Once back at home (the Ehlerts) we fired up the grill and made hotdogs and hamburgers and made homemade fries!  Yum!  Then we did cake, ice cream and presents.

Love what we did with the candle when none could be found!? It worked...

It was such a beautiful weekend it was spent mostly outside... here is a smart girl basking in the early Sunday morning sun reading one of her new books.  The cat is also enjoying the moment.

Sunday was spent mostly with Lucie cousins (David's sisters house) which was fun and always is fun for everyone!  Mad I didn't get any pictures!  Thanks for a great weekend Lucie, we love you!
